Wardrobe and Character.

Difficulties in our lives and getting into complicated situations are often caused by rejected experiences. The expression of life experience and its structure can be seen in how we choose and wear our clothes.

An example of this is a meticulous attitude towards clothing. Choosing new items in perfect condition and discarding them when signs of wear appear. Similarly, we may treat our experiences: anything that “doesn’t go according to plan” is devalued and discarded, and others are blamed for the consequences.

An excessive preference for using clothes from close ones and reluctance to acquire new items can be an example of a fear of encountering something new in life, a fear of making mistakes, thus substituting personal experience with someone else’s.

A passion for preserving old things, washing them as infrequently as possible, and being extremely careful with clothing, refusing to update the wardrobe. Such a person may have a Faustian desire to “stop the moment,” to preserve something important, exerting extreme control over their own and their loved ones’ lives.

The described examples do not indicate abnormalities or the need to change anything about oneself, but they do offer an opportunity to audit both the wardrobe and the psyche.
